Happy New Year - Will This Year Be Different?
Happy New Year Everyone!
As we hit the ground running this year, I want to encourage each of you to continue to ask God how you as parents can make a significant difference in your family, living an outward focused life. I am going to continue to write on my blog how important it is to begin to live our lives in front of our kids being outward focused. I am convinced that if we do this we have an opportunity in front of us to change a generation from being "me-focused" and having a sense of "entitlement" to growing up being Christ like by serving those around us.
We can not expect their school teachers, Sunday School teachers, tutors, sport coaches to be the ones to do this, it MUST start in the home.
If you haven't already, make a commitment to do things differently in this New Year, 2010 to get outside your own box and begin taking steps to look for opportunities to serve others around you.
For this post, I'll leave you with a quote from Mother Teresa. When asked how did she ever help so many people in India, her response was, "If I hadn't carried (beggars dying on the street) the first one, I couldn't have carried the 30,000th!"
